Open access policy

Medicine and Materials is an open access journal. The journal doesn’t charge for submission, but it has Article Publication Charge, which is waived until June 2026. After this date APC will be 300 EUR.

All content is freely available without charge to any user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
Concerning the permission for copyrighted images used in your manuscript, this is entirely your responsibility (whether they’ll be screenshots – e.g. of a scene from a game, photos, figures, tables, graphics, etc.).

Authors retain copyright of their work. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that the original work is properly cited.

By submitting to Medicine and Materials, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, distribute, and archive the article in all forms and media.

Users are free to:

  • share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format)
  • adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially)

Under the following conditions:

  • appropriate credit must be given to the author(s) and the source
  • a link to the license must be provided
  • any changes made must be clearly indicated

Authors have the right to:

  • deposit the published Version of Record in institutional or subject repositories
  • share and distribute the article on personal websites and academic platforms

Backup Systems

The journal uses Internet Archive and multiple copies saved on different servers and backups. The journal uses multiple backup systems to ensure preservation.

Website Archiving

All electronic content (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored in three different sources. A copy is preserved on two backup sources. In case of server failure, restoration is expected within 48–96 hours.
